Făgăraş Mountains

Podragu Valley, Fagaras Mountains

The beauty of Fagaras Ridge, almost 70km long, is given by a special landscape which contains: glacial lakes, saddles, chasms, rocky ridges, rubbles, great cliffs, isolated rocks, belvedere points, streams, waterfalls, springs, and wild forests with green clearings.

The Highest Romanian Peak,  Moldoveanu – 2544 m, can be ascended from the ridge path of Făgăraş Massif. Also, ascensions from south, directly on Moldoveanu Peak, carry away us through very wild and spectacular places. Fagaras is one of the widest massifs in the Carpathian Mountains.

Some examples of hiking tours in Făgăraş Mountains:

A hiking and wildlife tour – a crossing from Fagaras to Piatra Craiului Mountains, followed by four wildlife observation days

Trekking With the Wind – a moderate tour with accommodation based mainly on mountain huts

Highest Peaks Circuit – pure hiking above 2000 m. Accommodation based on tents, some challenging hiking days occur

Hiking the Highest Glacial Ridge – A tour oriented towards geology of Carpathians
