Baiului Mountains

The Baiului Mountains are a wild zone with slow slopes, with a beautiful sightseeing over Bucegi Mts and over the Eastern Mountains, like Ciucas an Siriu.

Easily accessible from Prahova Valley, where there are plenty of trains and mini-buses from Bucharest, Baiului Mts can also be hiked from the West, from Doftana Valley. Main access points from Prahova Valley are Sinaia, Buşteni, Azuga or Predeal, in the North.

Smaller than Bucegi Mts, just across Prahova River they are less crowded, more peaceful, very suitable for mountain biking or easy walk. But also long trekking days can go on in Baiului.

Here is where we have the chance to meet the wolf or the brown bear, as well as a beautiful forest of Larix Decidua.
