Wednesday, 10. 21. 2009  –  Category: Birdwatching

During the week-end the crew went to Predeal resort, in the middle of the Carpathian Mountains , 1000 m.a.s.l. It was a teambuilding, but also a good opportunity to watch birds. It just snowed few hours before our arrival, so it was all white. But nice, pleasant temperature.

We went for a short walk at near the forest, and in only two hours we identified:
1. Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes)
2. Long tailed tit (Aegithalos caudatus)
3. Coal tit (Parus ater)
4. Marsh tit (Parus palustris)
5. Blue tit (Parus caeruleus)
6. Great tit (Parus major)
7. Nuthatch (Sitta Europaea)
8. Willow warbler (Phylloscopus trochilus)
9. Black cap (Sylvia atricapilla) -  Female
10. Robin (Erithacus rubecula)
11. Black redstart (
Phoenicurus ochruros)
12. House sparrow (Passer domesticus)
13. Chaffinch
14. Blackbird (Turdus merula)
15. Jay (Garrulus glandarius)
16. Collared dove
17. city pidgeon
18. buzzard (Buteo buteo)
19. falcon

Here are some pictures:

Although Danube Delta is by far the best place for birding in Romania, and one of the best in Europe, the Carpathians, are a place where you can see different bird (like the bullfinch for example) and enjoy a diverse and spectacular nature.

Please check our bird watching tours and our mountain hiking tours (some of them passing by Predeal)
